Take My Revolution

as seen on Pure Impurity:

I have written 3 of the at least 5 fics I vowed to write sexing up Tousen. Go me! I don't know why a lot of people seem to dislike or ignore him in fandom. He's an interesting character when you think about it. He's a study of the darker side to morality, of how sticking to ideals can lead one down a road that actually conflicts with those ideals.

"Murder in the name of moral justice is righteous."

Do people hate on him because he reminds them of a religious zealot? Perhaps... I also get a kick out of the fact that Aizen had to seduce Tousen down the path he's currently on in some way, whether just by the force of his personality ("Those who stand by my side needn't fear anyone.") or more literally if you're a slasher like me, for his plan to work. It's just interesting that the one person immune to Aizen's power willingly serves on his side. I also like Kaname because villain characters are so often portrayed as amoral in some way, utterly sadistic at worst, but Tousen is quite the opposite. I guess the fact that he's so serious most of the time makes fandom, at least the western part of it, shy away from him. Girls seem to like the bad boys more than the ones fit to bring home to mother. Well, I like all the boys (and you know what they say about the serious, quiet types. All that repression... *wibbles*) The fact that Tousen's seiyuu is the same one that voiced Iwaki from Haru wo Daiteita only feeds my imagination (the way he says "Aizen-sama... *wibbles again*)

Off on a bit of a tangent, but this clip keeps haunting me for some reason:

Bleach - tousen aizen gin tea

Is there some other meaning in Japan to offering someone tea that's freaking Gin out in this clip (I know about the whole 'morning coffee' thing)? Or is there one of those Utena meanings that I'm missing?

Anthy: *offers container to Nanami* Won't you try the jam?
Nanami: *smacks container away in horror* I don't want any jam!

Maybe I'm reading into it a bit much...

Because of this clip, the image of Tousen serving Aizen tea in a butler cafe before he is pulled into Aizen's lap and molested won't leave my mind. Is this wrong?

The Good Kind of Harassment

Added clips of a beloved yaoi OVA to my yaoi shrine-ish site (there's still not enough yaoi on it, but I'm remedying that bit by bit). It was annoying, because the program that I use to make the clips didn't want to work at first. I petted it, and then it behaved appropriately. My Sexual Harassment is probably my favorite yaoi anime ever. It's not about love or some such, which is one reason why I love it. It's all about a salaryman using his body to get ahead. Who doesn't like that kind of thing? As soon as it got licensed, I bought the DVD (no dub, but I didn't mind). I still remember the look the cashier gave me when she examined it before ringing it up. Oh, the lost innocence!

It's clips like this one that make My Sexual Harassment hot:

My Sexual Harassment Clip 1

And clips like this one that make it epic:

My Sexual Harassment Clip 3

"You don't care what it is, do you?" Heh.

Fun Fact: the seiyuu for the man in the second clip being given 'special treatment' voices Ukoku Sanzo/Dr. Nii in the Saiyuki anime & OVA. Love it.

Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd

I went out yesterday with a group of friends to see Sweeney Todd. First, we caught dinner at a place not too far from the theater. Japanese buffet - the food was so good! (I think I may have eaten too much ^^;). Some kids ill-behaved enough to make almost any woman child-free almost ruined it. Then they left, so we started having fun again. :)

We didn't have to deal with a mob at the theater because we went to a later showing. The movie was excellent. I can't even say how fun this film was. Even if you're not a fan of musicals, you should see this movie. The actors sang pretty well (I didn't realize that Depp could sing as well as he did, to be honest), and the story was great. Some parts poignant, others morbidly funny. Burton & everyone else did a great job with this film. And Rickman was as awesome as expected. His pants seemed a little... snug in certain areas to me (I guess I'm a perv to have noticed). And Sasha Cohen was definitely wearing some sort of padding down there in that tight-ass blue number he was wearing.

I might go back to see it again. It really caught the spirit of the Broadway play, but you could feel the 'Burton' in it. I should warn the squeamish that there is graphic bloodletting. He is cutting throats after all. I tend not to mind that sort of thing, though.

I did get some funny looks from fellow theater goers with a little (inappropriate, perhaps?) laughter at certain parts.

From Mangahelpers.com

Szayel tells of Fornicaras’s most important ability which he is also most proud of/boasts about. “The Annunciation (gaburie-ru) Gabriele(?)” It allows him to impregnate the enemy with himself. It involves penetrating the body/internal organs and leaving his spawn inside. The body is completely taken over before long. While pregnant and giving birth the mother is kept barely alive. Mayuri does an introduction and says …ho….

So he has regenerated and returned for a rematch! And the fight of Aporro continues...

I <3 you, Kubo! What's your next plan to make your fans squee, shriek in horror, or scratch their heads? Can it involve Grimmjow? Because that would be awesome.

I will sit in this corner over here and wait for all the mpreg fic that are going to come about from this.
